Tonight I got out of the cab above....and FOR ONCE thought I was in the clear from crazy. I had made it through an entire evening cab ride without mention of bombings, arrests, drug deals, or, well... any other sign of creeper (SHOCKER!!). But, as usual, I was wrong.
While I was getting out of my ride (if I can use this word without it being associated with a pimp-like vehicle), a group of obviously intoxicated thirty-year old (ish) folks were trying to hail a cab. As another cab stopped in front of mine to pick them up, even though I had now exited, one man waiting in the group said to his stumbling friends: "Why are you hailing a cab!?...we already have one".
The response that followed...was PRICELESS. A girl, who for lack of us not being friends I can only refer to as DRUNK girl 1, responded: "We CAN'T take THAT cab...we CAN'T smoke in it. It's eco-friendly." (I am pretty sure at this second, I keeled over and started to crack up at her "casual" remark)
Oh. Right. That is entirely what an "Enviro-Cab" does....It is like D. A. R. E...and it "keeps kids off drugs"...or well, cigarettes, second hand smoke, and ugly habits (...just to name a few). Though I am not sure EXACTLY what makes this cab so environmentally awesome, I am inclined to think it is the engine, and NOT the driver or the rules of the cab, that are eco-friendly. But...in all honesty, who am I to say?! I give her bonus points for being hilarious and might I add, pretty damn witty.
LOL! You have to admit though- that was a pretty interesting conclusion for a drunk girl!!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh YES! I was pretty obsessed and started laughing so hard that she looked right at me and then started to laugh too while she got into her cab haha
