G stands for Gossip Girl, Glee, and Greys...the best, and most shocking, shows of the week. As a TV fanatic (or addict?), here are my thoughts on the episodes (FYI: There are spoilers to come if you haven't seen the episodes):
1. Gossip Girl: This was an amazing season finale. As if the return of Georgina (Harriet the Spy in all her adult glory) Sparks was not enough, the Chuck/Blair situation got CRAZY. Not only did stupid little J (seriously, I hate her and hope she never comes back to the show...or if she does that she goes back to being cute Cindy-Lou-Who and not the future Lindsay Lohan trainwreck that she has become) ruin Chuck and Blair's romantic Affair to Remember style proposal (Leighton Meester has by FAR become my favorite on the show...and I sometimes forget Blake Lively exists), but O.M.G. Chuck could be dead!?!?! For the show's sake, here's to hoping that he lives as I am on Team Chuck and Blair all the way, and also because, in all honesty, shows tend to suck when they kill off half of the best couple (See Ally McBeal after they kill off Billy...or imagine Friends if Ross died leaving Rachel).
2. Glee: First of all watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab4C-Heq-4Y&feature=related
This song/duet is just...AWESOME. It is a perfect blend of two flawless voices (I really think that Lea's is the only truly marketable one in the cast and Idina...well I love the original Rent soundtrack and I saw her in Wicked...so she really can do no wrong). Obviously, this song must be simply amazing for me to pick it over all things Neil Patrick Harris (especially since How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite shows..."Zitchdog"...and his high notes in "Dream on" were just fantastic).
All in all, I loved the episode and am pretty stoked for next week's GAGA episode to help me with my post-surgical vicodin-hallucinations. I look forward to going RA RA RA RA RA RA...while completely, and legally, high.
3. Greys: The words HOLY CRAP come to mind. What other show has two people shot (yes, shooting was a popular theme in TV this week) in the first 9 minutes of a 2 hour episode, and still keeps you on the edge of your seat for the ENTIRE time??! Seriously Greys!?! Seriously. Way to kill off nearly the ENTIRE Mercy West transfer crew (though I suppose that is why I did not know any of their names except for the hot one who was in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2...but he was spared), and make me continuously question if McDreamy or Meredith or Alex or Bailey wanted out of their contracts (in secret as opposed to the George/Izzy situation) and were going to die right in front of me. Thank you for the multiple near heart attacks Greys. I consider this episode a return to your roots (you know the Denny and the L Vad wire, Denny dying, Burke getting shot...roots) and, as a fan from the beginning, let me just say that....I missed you...and I really hope that you stay this awesome next season. If you do, I will even give you a pass on that whole Izzy hallucinating and having sex with dead Denny plot line...Deal?!
And, in the next letter of the alphabet news...H stands for House. Besides being a tearjerker, all I have to say is YAY! Finally, House and Cuddy...no hallucinations. After last season's trick of their love affair being connected to vicodin (I wonder if I will get like this on monday), and her brutal verbal lashing of him as a person, I was ECSTATIC. My only fear is that the writers will go breaking them up just to make the House/Cuddy relationship always one of drama and the "will they or won't they" moments. As that plot line is PLAYED out on virtually EVERY TV show and it has already ran its course with them...here's to hoping the writers just let it last.
Without a DVR, I actually have to plan to watch the shows I like (and quickly have narrowed my 26...down to....10). But, Oh TV, How I love thee :)

OK, you and I must have similar TV habits. Cause I watched all of these.
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl - You and I are so on the same page. I especially liked how everyone was all pissed at Ms. Raccoon Eyes and then she sleeps with Chuck and then all was forgiven. She is a major drain on the show. And while I LOVE chuck and blair, I wonder how many times they can keep having Chuck totally screw something up and then Blair forgiving him. I agree Leighton Meester is seriously playing that role so well!
Grey's - I kept having crazy flashbacks of ER when Lucy and Carter were stabbed. And agree, I really hope that this can re-energize the show.
House - I'm conflicted. I really like Lucas. But I squealed with delight at their kiss!
Can't hardly wait for summer to be over to see what happens next season.
Hahaha I think they are the "popular TV shows"...but I agree that is pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteG.G.: ha. racoon eyes. I completely agree about her being forgiven...it is like she was taken advantage of by Chuck and she was completely consenting...it sort of makes women look like the victim in all sexual situations...it was weird. I agree that not much else can happen btwn Chuck and Blair...mb when he lives shell be like AH he almost died...and they will get back together and that is that
House: I like him too but House needs Cuddy...its good.
I hate summer because there is really no new tv. I rely on Bravo shows and some ABC family ones to get me through. And, I feel like Entourage/Mad Men/Weeds...start at some point in the summer...but I could be wrong
loved the last few episodes of house.. they were really creative! i'm not sure how i feel about cuddy and house.. part of their awesome relationship is the intense tension between them. if they're together, that's gone. and i liked lucas too. looking forward to next season though!
