This Jobs A Pain..It's So Mundane...It Sure Don't Stimulate My BRAIN

Reason #456 my job is ridiculous: Last week I outlined a bunch of literature for my bosses to use in writing an introduction to a report. In the tables, I included the methods, the sample, and the important conclusions from each article and I laid it out in a way that they could pick and chose what they wanted to include in their draft. Today I came into work and received an e-mail copy of the introduction. In the e-mail, I was given these instructions: "Please Add Cites". Yes, to all of you in disbelief, my bosses sent me an entirely written out introduction, without any citations, and now they expect me to look at the tables I made and figure out which articles they used for each sentence. AWESOME. On what planet does this way of writing make sense? Even if you did not want to bother with the correct formatting for citations (I could understand being told to do this), how hard is it to just put in parentheses the name of the author you used to support each conclusion?! Seriously, this one step alone would have made it astronomically easier for me to find the sources later and would also prevent any form of plagiarism or some other illegal writing activity. Oh, and that's not all, when I got to one sentence where I could not figure out which citations were used (honestly none of them really said what they wrote explicitly), I got yelled at for not coming to the same conclusion about the sources that my bosses did. Apparently not one, but three of the sources implied the conclusion they wrote, and stupid me could not find them. UGH. Why do they always assume I know what they are thinking?!?! If I was a mind reader of inefficiency and mismanagement, I'd probably be a hell of a lot less driven, and a ton less successful. Is it bad that I am desperately looking forward to mean bosses 2 month vacation??
